About My Clients
For so many, life’s storms can feel hopeless and debilitating, and taking on these storms often feels like a lonely journey. If this is you, you're not alone! Together, we can hold deep compassion for your journey and help you build a life worth living. I specialize in working with chronic suicidal ideation, and I know that what we see on the surface is often connected to a deeper pain that needs healing.
My Background and Approach
In all the work that I do, I hold two strong beliefs: (1) people are not only acceptable but are incredible just the way they are, and (2) people have the capacity to change and take control of their lives the way they want to. These two beliefs sometimes feel so contradictory as we fight to both foster self-compassion and change complex circumstances, but I believe that they are most powerful when held together in space of safety. I have experience working with trauma, addictions, eating disorders, psychosis, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. Additionally, I am passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ concerns, faith journeys/transitions, and helping people connect with and follow their values-centered life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My most central belief is that we as humans need each other and we need to foster a community of compassion, inclusion, and acceptance. This does not always mean the happy/kind feelings, but usually means a lot of hard work, humility, and willingness to acknowledge when we have been wrong. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, strive to increase my cultural and social justice competence, and am an ally of the Deaf community. I am familiar with LDS values and one of my greatest privileges is witnessing people as they more deeply connect with and commit to their own personal values, whether that is inside a religious organization, outside a religious organization, or anywhere in the middle.
