About My Clients

You love your child desperately, but something isn’t right. Are they worried and scared all the time, even if it seems like there's nothing wrong? Do they angry and have tantrums more than other kids? You might feel lost and confused and think, "I would do anything to make things better." Maybe you've even already tried books, therapy, groups, sticker charts- you name it- but nothing has worked. You are not alone! We can work together to help your child feel brave, calm, and confident.

My Background and Approach

I have been practicing as a licensed therapist for over 6 years. I began my career as a therapist for a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility for adolescents with trauma and severe behavioral concerns before transitioning into working in a community-based mental health center and then opening up my own private practice at the beginning of 2021. For my entire counseling career, I have been working with children and adolescents. I love helping children who have anxiety disorders, behavior concerns, ADHD, Autism, grief, and trauma. I’m certified in PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), a highly effective and specialized approach for children ages 2-10. I will be officially certified in PCIT-SM (PCIT for Selective Mutism) fall of 2022. I am also trained in play therapy and am working towards an additional license as a Registered Play Therapist. I also integrate other evidence-based practices, but therapy is always collaborative and personalized to each client individually.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I stand with Black Lives Matter to right the wrongs of racism in any way I can. I am committed to working on myself, checking any internalized biases, and with the organizations of which I am a member in order to fight the systemic racism that has plagued all people of color and marginalized communities. I am also LGBTQ+ affirming: my office is a safe space for everyone. I strive to continue growing as an ally, educating myself, and advocating for the safety and equality of the LGBTQ+ community while also remembering the trials they have endured, the battles they have fought, and the fight that continues. I am also passionate about helping animals in need and enjoy volunteering with our local animal shelters. I believe that there is no such thing as a bad child and that children are fully deserving of unconditional love and respect, just like adults!
