Her personal journey and own experience in therapy led her to want to help others live a more fulfilling and gratifying life. MacKenzie has been in the mental health field for 4 years and has extensive experience in working with civilians, veterans, and military families who are struggling with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, communication difficulties, domestic violence, and relationship difficulties.
My Background and Approach
MacKenzie received her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Point Loma Nazarene University. She has advanced training in evidenced based therapies such as, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She is a firm believer that therapy is an essential and inherent part of being human and knows how difficult it can be to talk about one’s challenges and traumas, however she commits to provide encouragement, compassion, empathy, and utilize advanced counseling tools and strategies to help you create the life and relationships that you want.
