Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidenced-based therapy approach that can be used to help children and adolescents heal from traumatic experiences. TF-CBT emphasizes the importance of understanding the connection among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as well as providing supportive parent resources and tools throughout the process.

Family therapy sessions can often be helpful as a supplementary layer to your child or adolescent’s individual therapy. Family therapy sessions can include parents, siblings, or other significant people in the child/adolescent’s life. While your child or adolescent can make significant improvements during their time in therapy, I have found that these improvements are more impactful as well as longer-lasting when the parents or other family members are also active participants in therapy.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is a therapeutic approach that helps clients heal emotional, cognitive, and physical distressing symptoms often resulting from traumatic experiences. I have completed both basic level and advanced training in EMDR Therapy, specifically focused on working with child and adolescent populations as well as using EMDR in family work with attachment-focused considerations.
