About My Clients
She received her Masters in Social Work from San Diego State University. Leah has experience working with individuals with varying levels of severity of mental health symptoms though most extensively with those experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, and interpersonal conflict/violence. She has been trained in an array of treatment modalities but primarily uses thought and behavior based treatments, including Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapies and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My Background and Approach
Leah understands that therapy is a growth and change process that can be scary, painful, and challenging, at times, along the way. She believes that you have already begun your journey if you recognize that the pain or challenges of where you are at are worth the risks of changing. Leah sees her role as a support and guide for you on this continued journey where she will help you tap into your existing strengths. She understands that therapy requires you to be extremely vulnerable with another person, so the connection you feel with your therapist is just as important as the therapeutic training and skills your therapist possesses.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
“I strive to create and hold a safe and non-judgemental space while compassionately joining you in working toward your self-identified goals using evidence-supported treatment modalities”.
