About My Clients
I regularly ask clients to examine their overall quality of life. Do you ever wonder about ways in which you can enhance your overall well-being? I think most of us do, regardless of age or situation. I look forward to helping you navigate different ways to tackle the barriers you may be facing in order to assist you in feeling more comfortable and confident in your day-to-day environment.
My Background and Approach
I have extensive experience with all ages, and all situations (6 and up). I am a generalist at heart! But if I had to pick one population that I have been seeing more regularly, it would be teens. The pandemic was exceedingly difficult for them and continues to create problems such as school avoidance, suicidal thoughts, depression, relationship issues, anxiety-- the list goes on. We know that the brain of an adolescent is continuing to develop, and the pandemic only made this process more challenging. My main hope is to always be an exceptional listener, provide unconditional support, and provide a safe space for you to express yourself, regardless of age or gender. We will start with some rapport building, and then set some initial ideas for treatment goals. Having an impartial person to talk to and work through life's uncertainties or past traumas is extremely important.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can benefit from talking with someone on the "outside". The stigma of mental health treatment is something I am trying to combat on a daily basis. Therapy doesn't have to be fancy. It doesn't have to be worksheets and paperwork and testing. It doesn't have to be about diagnoses. Therapy can be what the individual needs at that time, and sometimes, that can be just someone listening to you in a safe space, providing support and insight. Therapy is what you want it to be. I will meet you where you are at!
