About My Clients
I currently work with adults, adolescents, and couples, with a particular focus on perinatal and maternal mental health, early family experiences, LGBTQIA counseling, gender identity, consensual non-monogamies, and women's issues.
My Background and Approach
I believe that each of us have the tools within ourselves to achieve optimal mental health and relational functioning, which is why I use a collaborative approach with my clients to develop and work toward their goals. I offer a safe and inclusive space for my clients to explore their identities, relationships, and personal goals. I have specialized training in the treatment of perinatal mental health (to include mood and anxiety disorders throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period, traumatic birth experiences, infertility, and pregnancy/infant loss), couples and family therapy (including non-traditional relationships), consensual non-monogamies, LGBTQ+ issues, and play therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each of us are uniquely human and have our own tools that help us cope with life's ups and downs. This means that while I am a professional and have some extra tools to offer, I am also human and I value your insight. If you work with me, you can expect to feel empowered, valuable, and safe (and you will probably laugh some, too!). I draw upon my professional training and my personal life experiences to inform the way that I practice. I am an active member of the LGBTQIA community and am a feminist. I have worked through my own postpartum anxiety and am a mother of three, which helps me feel connected to the parents that I help.
