About My Clients

We all try to do our best to cope with stress, but sometimes it all becomes too much. You don't have to brave it alone. You deserve support. My clients are new parents coping with tiny humans taking over their lives, individuals looking build resilience against trauma, and couples work through relationship difficulties. I have seven years of experience treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, cultural identity development, and health concerns including sleep and insomnia.

My Background and Approach

I'm passionate about helping adults and adolescents work through problems that interfere with living meaningful, enriching lives. I work collaboratively with my clients to promote awareness, insight, and adaptive thinking. My work is tailored to your individual needs and informed by consideration of your cultural background and family dynamics. My honest, warm approach helps my clients feel safe and secure. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal approach and find it an absolute privilege to help my clients challenge unhelpful thoughts that may be causing undue stress. I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University in New York. I moved to beautiful San Diego to complete an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of San Diego and completed a postdoctoral residency at the University of California, San Diego Counseling and Psychological Services/Student Health Services with a specialization in Behavioral Health.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I understand that in your family you may have received the message that therapy is a sign of weakness and for those who are really struggling. I received similar messages growing up as an Armenian American ethnic minority. However, as I provide therapy to my clients, I actually find seeking services to be a sign of resilience and strength, rather than reflective of any sort of deficit. I’ve helped clients balance their values with the values of their family, which may be different. After overcoming this conflict, my past clients report feeling more fulfilled as they live more authentically, without the shame and doubt that once held them back. It is incredibly rewarding to be part of this growth process. This is why I especially enjoy providing cultural identity development counseling for individuals with marginalized identities.
