Are you eccentric, talented, and always challenging the status quo. I work with folx to redefine and reimagine the life they live and try to eliminate barriers within the self, community, and relationships to create the life you want. I work with adults to decrease anxiety and depression and move into your power. I specialize in queer, and transgender identities. I love working with folks in the non profit System or helping profession who are experience extreme burn out.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in California and Washington. I received my master's from Antioch University in 2013, and was licensed in 2015. I believe we grow and shift in relationships. I use narrative therapy and somatic techniques to listen to our internal sense of power
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am dedicated to an anti-racist platform and highlighting the ways oppression, power and privilege effect our lives. I believe the way we were socialized in this system create internal beliefs we have about ourselves which can lead to internalized oppression which causes anxiety and depression. I spent many years doing community work with severely mentally ill homeless folks, I want mental health services to be accessible to folks who reach out for them. As a transgender gay fuse, I offer a specialized view of working with the queer population. I am able to connect and understand the important cultural distinction in our community. I believe that healing happens in relationship and I view therapy as a practice space to check in and identify how you want to be in the world. The healing happens when you take this practice into your everyday lives and practice how you want to connect with folks to create the intimacy and vulnerability you crave, or don’t :)
