About My Clients
Are you anxious, overwhelmed, or just feeling down and off? Maybe you feel pressure to have things figured out and worry you're falling behind compared to friends or classmates. Anxiety often shows up as overthinking, self-doubt, or constantly questioning if you're doing “enough.” If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or just trying to make sense of who you are and where you’re headed, therapy can be a supportive place to slow down, sort things out, and feel more grounded in yourself.
My Background and Approach
I provide my clients with tangible tools they can take with them into the real world. I tailor my therapeutic approaches to meet each individual as they are. I pull from a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, reality therapy, narrative therapy, and play therapy. First and foremost my work is person-centered, meaning our work together is collaborative and creates a safe, supportive space where you feel understood and empowered to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. For younger kiddos, I have an in-office play therapy room where I practice Child Centered Play Therapy. This approach focuses on creating a safe nonjudgmental space for children to explore their emotions, thoughts, behaviors and boundaries. I have a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University, an MA in Forensic Psychology from George Washington University, and am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that one of the best indicators of growth and change in therapy is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I prioritize getting to know you as a human being and developing trust and safety within our space. I believe people are capable of healing in this supportive environment. I also take a trauma-informed approach and recognize that some unhelpful patterns in your life know, may actually have served a helpful purpose at one time. I can help you make sense of that and learn to implement more helpful behaviors and thoughts. I have been on my own healing journey with anxiety. I want to help others overcome some of these overwhelming times too and be able to live their true authentic selves!
