About My Clients
I see adults, young people, and couples of all backgrounds and identities. I support clients struggling with anxiety, depression, life changes and transitions, eating disorders, difficult family relationships, identity issues, and stress and burnout.
My Background and Approach
While several approaches inform my work, I am oriented towards a Humanistic and Psychodynamic approach, which prioritizes the client's inner world, past experiences, and strengths. I work with my clients to recognize patterns and connections within their lives and decide how they want to author their lived experience. I believe my clients have everything they need to live the life they desire and my role is listen, reflect, ask thoughtful questions, and give them a safe space to explore their inner world. My goal is to help you develop the tools you need to make life easier and more joyful, work with you towards your specific goals, and be a supportive, warm resource in your journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in advocating for change and protecting the most vulnerable amongst us, whilst actively working to change the systemic issues that impact mental health. In addition to being a therapist, I am also an author and academic, researching how the systemic challenges we face - such as financial and housing insecurity, patriarchal standards, access to healthcare, and the cost of living, to name a few - impact our mental health, individually and as a nation. I published my first book, The Psychology of Silicon Valley, in 2019, and am currently writing two more: one on mental health in the workplace, and a third on the mental health, well-being, and psychology of America.
