About My Clients
My goal is to provide my clients the opportunity to be wholly themselves and feel confident doing so. I am interested in working with mothers, especially those in the BIPOC and Latinx communities. Being a parent is difficult, and it can seem impossible to work through the waves of parenthood on your own. There is hope in this struggle, and I am committed to helping you build the necessary foundation to live a more successful life!
My Background and Approach
I am a graduate student from the University of Saint Mary, and am currently working as a student intern at Fortaleza Counseling in Olathe, Kansas. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, all of which teach the skills necessary to live a healthy, balanced life. Our work together will empower my clients to find their voice & realize their own strengths in advocating for themselves, while also growing as an individual. I am drawn to serving other women and mothers in the Latinx & BIPOC communities who may be feeling the weight of societal oppression, and the prejudices and biases that are in place and working against them. It is my mission to build up these women, and challenge the societal norms that actively work to keep them quiet and out of sight.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about serving those in the Latina and BIPOC communities because I believe that social justice is an important and very real issue in our world. Work needs to be done to continue to build up systemically oppressed individuals who do not yet have the knowledge and resources to advocate for themselves. I believe that each and every individual is born with the strength and resilience that is required when facing life's challenges and difficulties. As a therapist, it is my job to help clients uncover their own strengths, and provide the tools necessary to be an even stronger, more empowered mother. It takes a village to raise a child. I am looking forward to becoming a part of yours!
