About My Clients
I specialize in C-PTSD, Narcissistic Abuse Recovery, and Grief. I work using Somatic reprocessing (TRM), Polyvagal theory, Brainspotting/Parts Work, CBT, Narrative therapy, and Psychodynamic methods. With couples, I utilize Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to understand attachment styles and strengthen emotional bonds.
My Background and Approach
The therapeutic space should always be safe and genuine, and I strive to work from a culturally-responsive and non-judgmental perspective. I tend to approach most mental health struggles through the lens of trauma. Be it "little t trauma" or "Big T Trauma," often issues of depression, anxiety, chronic illness, or difficulties with others have roots in our most trying times. I try to combine that insight with practical tools, learning to access and tolerate our feelings, and ways to calm our bodies. I am TRM trained have experience coping with and processing trauma from a somatic approach. I also utilize Brainspotting, CBT and narrative therapy as part of trauma work. I have completed additional trainings in EFCT to help couples heal within their partnerships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I feel strongly that therapy has to be evidence-based, open-minded, and nonjudgemental. I believe social justice benefits all of society and I am a LQBTQIA2S+ ally. I am sex-positive, kink-positive, and I believe in health at any size. I am a life long volunteer who currently works coaching the public and sitting on the board of a not-for-profit. I believe in a spirit of giving and encouraging community and collectivism.
