About My Clients
I work with teens, adults, and couples who are navigating identity exploration, anxiety, relationship challenges, self-worth, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, wanting to break old patterns, or hoping to build more secure and authentic connections. I especially enjoy supporting LGBTQIA+ clients, foster and adoptive families, and those exploring what it means to feel a sense of belonging.
My Background and Approach
I’m a therapist at Second Wave Counseling with a background in social work and a passion for helping people understand themselves and their relationships more deeply. My approach is attachment-focused, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity. I believe our past experiences, relationships, and environments shape how we see ourselves and connect with others, and therapy can help us create new patterns that better align with who we are. I have experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients, couples, teens, adults, and foster/adoptive families as they navigate identity exploration, anxiety, relationship challenges, self-worth, and life transitions. As a former foster parent and foster care advocate, I bring a unique understanding of attachment, family systems, and the complexities of building connection after difficult experiences. My goal is to create a warm, affirming space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to explore all parts of themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is not separate from the world we live in. Our identities, communities, relationships, and the systems around us all shape our experiences, and I believe meaningful therapy requires acknowledging those realities. I believe in the decolonization of therapy and in challenging approaches that ignore the impact of oppression, power, and systemic barriers on mental health. I believe therapy is inherently connected to our values and that creating a more equitable world is part of creating spaces where people can heal. I am passionate about LGBTQIA+ affirming care, identity exploration, and helping clients build lives and relationships where they feel authentic and supported. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my cats, exploring Austin, discovering new coffee shops and restaurants, and continuing to learn from the communities I’m part of. I believe every person deserves a space where they can be fully seen, understood, and accepted.
