About My Clients

I work with adults (24+), young adults (18-24), and adolescents (15-18). I help clients with anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, trauma and PTSD, and life transitions. I provide fully affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals. I offer support for parents of children of all ages. I help clients who struggle with anger management, and offer a 12-week anger management treatment program. I am supportive of spirituality and incorporating religious and faith backgrounds in counseling.

My Background and Approach

I have an eclectic approach to therapy, blending attachment-based therapies, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and mindfulness. I use an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach with all my clients. I utilize cutting edge neuroscience in helping my clients connect their minds and bodies to become more integrated and centered. I focus on somatic techniques to manage anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma. I provide education and support for parents. I am always learning and growing in my professional development, and incorporate new methods and knowledge all the time. I have a collaborative approach, and help my clients identify and clarify their values through a process of self-reflection and goal-setting to make the best use of our time together. I believe that the relationship between a client and therapist is the most important part of therapy; each session is an authentic interpersonal encounter where you can receive care, support, and space to process the past and the present.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that integration and embodiment are crucial for growth, healing, and wholeness--integration of bodies and minds, of past and present, of values and actions, and the embodiment of our emotions, spirituality, and interdependence with the world. Working toward justice in our nation, our communities, and the families that comprise them means identifying and healing from trauma--on both the individual and generational levels. I am passionate about helping LGBTQ people who have been hurt by religious communities recover a deep, life-giving spirituality, and guiding families and faith communities toward becoming inclusive supporters of their LGBTQ members. I believe that people with chronic mental health disorders can live full and rewarding lives, and are deserving of support and fair access to treatment. I believe in the beauty of neurodiversity.
