Connect, Heal, Thrive (in that order!) Human connection is the primary source of true healing. We were not meant to walk this earth alone.

The very normal developmental stage of Individuating, when children start to realize their need to figure out who they are as individuals, can manifest in unsettling ways. These growing pains can be challenging for both the adolescent as well as the parents. Navigating this passage requires effective communication, respect on both sides, and firm and safe boundaries.
How safe we felt with our original caregivers directly determines the kinds of attachments we have in our adult relationships. Being able to identify your attachment style (i.e. anxious, disorganized, secure) is a direct blueprint to navigating vulnerabilities in current relationships.
We are born to relate and our family system is our first and most important source of belonging. It can also be a minefield. I use Emotion Focus Therapy in addition to Family Systems Theory to address family issues of all configurations, including couples, siblings, parent/child, blended and intergenerational.
