About My Clients

From the outside, your life may look functional—even successful—but internally you feel disconnected, guarded, or chronically on edge. You hold things together, anticipate others’ needs, and stay composed no matter what. You may carry old wounds from being the “mini-parent,” problem-solver, or secret keeper. You want real connection and solid ground, but patterns of overfunctioning or shutdown keep getting in the way, and having needs can feel risky.

My Background and Approach

Feeling guarded? That's ok! I work to earn your trust. My approach blends relational, somatic, and cognitive strategies to help you understand yourself more deeply, build boundaries that last, and create meaningful change. I am a licensed professional counselor associate. I also have taught mindfulness, Yoga, exercise, and meditation for 15 years with advanced certifications and training in trauma sensitive practices. I have experience working with cPTSD, sexual abuse and incest, college students facing adulthood, new parents estranged from their own parents, working moms, and entrepreneurs. I will never shy away from your pain. Together we'll help you rediscover a feeling of home and ease in your own skin. You can expect traditional talk therapy, but you can also explore somatic (body) based interventions, movement and meditation, role-play, and creative expression in session. What is foundational is the trust we build so you can experience safe, honest, and accepting space.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe self help is overrated. We learn, grow, find safety, and experience more of life through connection and relationship. We were not wired to do it all alone, and we were not wired to be passive participants in our own lives. We evolved to find joy in both personal pride and genuine cooperation. Somewhere along the way, through systemic oppression, generational trauma, direct abuse or neglect, or a series of hurts big and small, we developed ways of coping that worked in some ways and greatly limited us in others. I know this personally. Through my own therapy, I learned to face my attachment wounds, process traumatic events, grieve the nurturing mother I needed but did not get, and trust myself enough to carve a new path, including becoming a mother to an amazing daughter. I believe everyone deserves an affirming, accepting place to be truly themselves and live the life of their dreams. If you want to learn more about how I can help, I would love to hear from you.
