About My Clients
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood changes, relationship stress, or substance use concerns. I provide a safe, judgment-free space to speak openly and develop a treatment plan that fits your life. Whether you are seeking care for the first time, managing ongoing symptoms, or facing a difficult transition, we will work together at a comfortable pace. I welcome clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and offer care in English, French, and Haitian Creole.
My Background and Approach
I am Josie Desmarais, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 10 years of experience serving diverse communities in Florida. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar and mood disorders, and substance use disorders, including Suboxone treatment when appropriate. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I take time to understand your symptoms, personal history, strengths, and goals before recommending treatment. Together, we may use medication management, therapeutic support, practical coping tools, or a combination of these approaches. My goal is to help you feel heard, gain clarity, and build lasting stability. I offer in-person care in West Palm Beach and secure telehealth appointments throughout Florida.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe mental health care should be respectful, accessible, and free from judgment. Every person deserves to feel heard and to have a voice in their care. I value cultural humility, honest communication, and treatment that considers the whole person, not only their symptoms. My work is grounded in compassion and the belief that healing is possible with the right support, practical tools, and a collaborative treatment relationship.
