All of my training is in trauma-informed approaches and I have an in-depth understanding of how trauma impacts the brain and body. I've been working with clients struggling with trauma for the past five years through my work doing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy in both outpatient and wilderness settings, working in a residential treatment center for adolescent girls with trauma, and working with various ages in an outpatient setting. I love utilizing experiential modalities in my work as a therapist. I find that in a talk therapy setting, there is huge benefit to bringing in additional ways of looking at the problems we are working on. I utilize expressive arts with the majority of my clients and have been using it in a variety of settings over the past decade. Art not only allows us to express creativity and our views of the world but gives us the unique opportunity to gain insights and better understand ourselves.
