Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Boca Raton, FL
I have worked my entire career helping clients and their families navigate substance use issues. I support multiple pathways to recovery and never use a one size fits all approach. I am a masters certified addiction professional and provide interventions for all levels of care.
I frequently utilize a variety of CBT based approaches to help resolve distress experienced by clients seeking therapy services. I have a post graduate certification in CBT. That said, I always use a collaborative and individualized approach with each client.
I work from a family systems approach to bridge current issues to your family of origin. We can't pick the family we are born into. However, we can gain better insight into how this is impacted your life today and to set/maintain boundaries with family.
Codependency is often related to unresolved trauma and family of origin issues. At times codependency forms as a natural response to past experiences and current situations. I have helped many clients navigate codependent relationships and empower them to set boundaries.
I am a masters certified addiction professional (MCAP) with the state of Florida and have worked with people who use drugs are seeking recovery for my entire career. I support all pathways to recovery including harm reduction, 12 step, SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery. Although abstinence is often the goal, I operate from the framework of any positive change. Meaning, any positive change to reduce the negative impact from substance use is the goal.
When seeking services for an adolescent, the process can feel overwhelming, frustrating, and scary. Working with adolescents takes a specific skill set to be able to build a therapeutic relationship in order to bring about positive change. I work with teens experiencing a variety of mental distress and experiencing substance use. I work collaboratively with the parents or primary care givers and will provide family therapy when indicated.
