Are you stressed out, anxious? Do you hear your inner critic telling you, “I am not good enough; I am not worth it”? Does it feel overwhelming to experience uncertainty in life? Does it feel as though you “have not been yourself lately”, feeling sad or anxious longer or deeper than expected? Are you struggling with healing after a traumatic event? Do you desire to have a healthier relationship? Therapeutic tools and support can and will help, and I will provide support to take your life back.

My Background and Approach

I have been in private practice for more than 20 years and have over 30 years of direct clinical experience. My approach to counseling is to develop a respectful and meaningful connection with each client through compassion and understanding. I provide a comfortable, safe, non-judgmental atmosphere to nurture self-understanding and support. We'll work collaboratively to address whatever is bothering you right now and your goals for therapy. I combine warmth, respect, insight, guidance, and inclusiveness combined with the utilization of tools derived from solution focused therapy, mindfulness, CBT, and EMDR to equip you to have the skills to better manage your life, and in the process, obtain overall wellness, greater peace and joy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone deserves human dignity and respect, and that we can change and grow at any time in our lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think several mental health issues develop from unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Often times, the way we learned to cope were merely attempts to survive very difficult circumstances. Yet, we find those coping strategies are unhealthy, dysfunctional and interfering with our current circumstances or relationships. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. I have been active in working with suicide prevention, addictions, and trauma for many years. I serve on the board of Alabaster Jar Project, which provides a long-term residential program for women who have survived human trafficking & sexual exploitation. I have also been active in providing therapy to the LGBT community and recent efforts to promote anti-racism.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Christianity
