About My Clients
I value the opportunity to work with a wide range of people and bring warmth, curiosity, and empathy to the therapeutic relationship. Areas of focus include childhood trauma, family dynamics, anxiety/ stress, depression, PTSD, grief & loss, major life transitions, mood regulation, and relationship & communication issues.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Texas State University and went on to complete my Master of Social Work at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. After returning to Texas, I began working in private practice in 2019. My background reflects both a deep connection to my roots and a broad perspective shaped by international experience. I am trained in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based approaches, and I practice from a psychodynamic foundation. My work is grounded in empathy and a relationship-centered approach, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive space for meaningful growth and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves the freedom to live authentically, so long as it causes no harm to themselves or others. I embrace a body-positive, Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective, and I am a proud ally to the LGBTQ+ community. I value mutual respect, self-advocacy, and the importance of standing up for what’s right. I also believe in personal autonomy—particularly when it comes to decisions about our bodies and identities. Medical choices should remain between individuals and their providers, free from government interference. I am committed to practicing in an anti-racist, inclusive, and culturally responsive way. I believe in actively challenging systems of oppression and creating a therapeutic space that affirms the dignity and worth of every person. These values guide my work and the relationships I build with clients.
