About My Clients

People around you may think you have it "together," but that's not how you feel most days. There are things that make you anxious and you're not even sure why. Sometimes, your worries get stuck in your head and it's like you just can't let them go. Maybe you've even had panic attacks come on so suddenly that now you live in fear of when the next one might come. You want help. But you aren't sure you can open up to a therapist. You wonder if they'll really "get" you or be able to help.

My Background and Approach

I first fell in love with the field of mental health in 2008 when I was a student and had the honor of doing my field placement at our state hospital. I worked with other Social Workers who taught me to see the potential in any client no matter what their background. Since then, I've been lucky enough to walk alongside people from all walks of life as they have created lives worth living and begun to enjoy life again. I specialize in helping those who have gone through an experience they've found overwhelming. I help survivors of traumatic events such as a rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse or the traumatic death of a loved one. I also help individuals who are anxious or who simply feel lost. I want to get to know you as an individual, build a strong therapeutic relationship and be your partner (or at some points guide) on your journey to healing. I will hold hope when you feel hopeless and will show you the path when you see darkness. I help clients move forward.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every person is unique and value our differences. I have worked with people of various sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, ages, races and cultures. I enjoy working with diverse clients and want to help you live as your truest self. I will respect you and help you affirm your own sense of self. I believe that every person deserves to and can find peace and emotional freedom. I believe that everyone has an inherent strength and ability to find happiness. Reaching out for help is hard, but everyone does need a helping hand from time to time and I passionately believe in the power of counseling. I believe in providing high quality mental health treatment. That is why I only add therapists to my practice who provide evidence based treatment. I constantly seek out additional training and trying to learn even more to help my clients. I can always continue to grow as a therapist and my clients benefit from my love of research and self improvement.
