About My Clients
I love working with clients who struggle with chronic mental illness. Chronic depression, debilitating anxiety, derailing mood disorders, difficulty managing relationships are all areas that I love to dig deep into with my clients. Perhaps you have been through a good deal of treatment in the past and are feeling fed up or hopeless. I am here to honor your journey as well as hope to help guide you through making the (potentially painful) small steps to start building back a meaningful life.
My Background and Approach
The approaches that resonate most with me are values and strengths based approaches that focus mainly on building a solid base of a relationship between the client and myself. I am happy to provide concrete tools and often provide fairly direct feedback while always maintaining respect and positive regard for my client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that most of our mental health struggles, or at least how they show up, were developed as a way to protect ourselves. At one time, it worked for us, or it wouldn't have continued. We need to honor that side of things in order to also put things on the shelf when they no longer serve us. I strongly believe that I don't know everything and my clients have so much to teach me. My clients are the experts of themselves.
