About My Clients
You’re stuck, exhausted, close to burnout. All the reading, researching, and exercising you’ve been doing hasn’t brought your stress level down at all. Taking your vitamins and stretching doesn’t stop you from dragging listlessly through your day. Overwhelmed by all the things you “should” be doing, you’re constantly getting lost down a rabbit hole of "what if." And while you’re used to handling anything life throws your way, you just can’t right now.
My Background and Approach
The work I do is all about helping you notice patterns that are keeping you stuck and teaching skills, tools, and a new way to interact with your thoughts and feelings in order to break those patterns and focus on what really matters to you. Therapy with me isn't a collection of quick tricks, it's an approach that can help with your current concerns and give you process to cope with whatever life throws your way. I am an expert in a type of CBT called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and absolutely love what I do. I like to think of therapy as a collaboration between two experts: I'm the mental health expert and you're the expert on your own life and experiences. Together we can help you not only break old habits and patterns, but learn how to create a life you love.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don't believe there are broken people that need fixing. Only old patterns that aren't serving us anymore. Making the choice to come to therapy can be really difficult, especially if you, your family and friends, or your larger community have negative views of "people who need therapy." I can only speak from experience, but my clients are some of the bravest, strongest people I know. So many people in the world are struggling and yet not all are willing or able to access help. If you're reading this I want you to know that you're not alone and it's okay to not be okay right now. I'm here to help.
