About My Clients
Many LGBTQ+, gender-nonconforming, and neurodivergent adults spend years adapting to environments that were not built with them in mind. You may feel pressure to mask parts of yourself, question your worth, or struggle with anxiety, burnout, identity exploration, or trauma. I work with adults across New Mexico who want a space where their identities and ways of thinking are respected and affirmed.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor and the owner of Thinking About Thoughts Counseling Services, providing LGBTQ+, gender-affirming, and neurodivergent-informed care for adults across New Mexico. My work centers on creating a space where you don’t have to mask, explain, or minimize who you are. I approach therapy with curiosity, collaboration, and respect for the ways your experiences—both personal and systemic—have shaped how you move through the world. I draw from approaches like Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Internal Family Systems, alongside neurodivergent-affirming practices, to support growth without pathologizing identity. Together, we explore patterns with compassion, build insight into how your mind works, and develop practical tools that support emotional balance and sustainable change. My goal is to offer a trauma-informed, affirming space that honors your identity while helping you move toward a life that feels more aligned, authentic, and self-directed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you’ve been doing the best you can with the tools, support, and environments you’ve had—and that growth comes from compassion, not judgment. Therapy with me centers your autonomy, consent, and collaboration. You get to move at your own pace, define what feels safe, and show up as your full self. I’m committed to affirming queer, trans, and neurodivergent identities, including the ways you may have learned to mask or adapt to get by. I’m especially interested in how thoughts, systems, and personal stories shape how you see yourself and move through the world. Together, we can unpack those patterns with curiosity and build new ways of relating to yourself that feel more aligned and sustainable. Outside of therapy, I’m drawn to creative projects, learning, and spaces that mix reflection with play—values I bring into the work. Therapy can be thoughtful and grounding, but also flexible, human, and even a little playful, with room for humor, exploration, and real connection.
