I completed my internship at the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center, where I conducted therapy sessions using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children 3-18 yo who exhibited trauma symptoms from various types of abuse. In my past medical experience, I have worked extensively with a wide variety of patients of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including foster care clinics, suicide prevention intensive outpatient programs, and addiction clinics.

My clinical experience with mental health has illuminated the complex and profound impact of trauma on clients' lives as well as the strength and resilience required throughout the addiction recovery process. I have worked as a Program Therapist for nearly two years at a trauma-focused intensive program, which has given me invaluable experience in working with clients who have undergone significant trauma and have multiple mental health diagnoses, including PTSD/cPTSD and dissociative disorders.

Growing up as a 2nd-generation Chinese-American in an ethnically diverse environment, I saw friends and classmates immobilized by the immense pressure to perform from our immigrant parents, intergenerational trauma, and the stings of microaggressions. Furthermore, the mental health stigma prevented them from seeking out help. I want to do my part to help change that culture. I would like to help you learn how to self-advocate and honor your cultural identity in a way that feels right for you.

I utilize an integrative approach tailored to fit who you are as an individual. Therapeutic approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and systems theories. Together, we'll explore how your thoughts shape your emotions and actions, find coping skills that truly work for you, and dive into the deeper aspects that can lead to real, meaningful change.

I am certified in Trauma Model Therapy and am currently working towards certification to become a Clinical Certified Trauma Professional (CCTP). I have also utilized Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children from 3-18 years old who exhibited trauma symptoms from various types of abuse.

My approach has been described as "reparenting-focused CBT." I strive to utilize CBT principles as tools within an integrative therapeutic framework, including accounting for systemic and cultural factors.
