About My Clients
I realized in my years of practice that no single approach will work for everyone; therefore, I tailor my approach based on each person’s needs, symptoms and personality. I believe it is imperative to meet my clients where they are on their mental health healing and awareness. Come and share your story with a human being who will listen, hear your concerns and join you in working towards self-improvement, acceptance, and well-being.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Addiction Counselor and trained through NADA as a Acudetoxification Specialist (ADS). I am experienced in the treatment of dual-diagnosis. I graduated with a double Master degree in Clinical Counseling and School Counseling in 2011 from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. I have worked with mental health and substance abuse clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings for more than 10 years. I have attended multiple cultural awareness training’s and have also facilitated cultural awareness workshops through Intercultural Community Builders. During my journey as a professional therapist, I have worked successfully with clients from ages 13 to 86 who struggle with mental health concerns such as but not limited to; Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Sexual Identity, Incest Survivors, Attention Deficit Disorder, Bipolar, PTSD, Substance and Alcohol Addiction, transistions and stages of life issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am aware of the many cultural differences we have in our country. Therefore, I have attended trainings to learn more about how cultural identity can help or hinder our mental health. I apply my cultural awareness skills with each client I meet. I am continually learning about topics that widen my knowledge on how to serve my individual clients; therefore, I attend workshops and trainings regularly such as: Trauma Informed Client Care, Seeking Safety, Investigating and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse, AdoptCare Network Training for Professionals I and Advanced, Sexual identity sensitivity training. I believe that although we may live in the same world, we experience it as unique human beings. I also believe in giving back to my community and I have given back by volunteering with local organizations throughout the past 11+ years with non-profit agencies such as; Restorative Justice, Intercultural Community Builders, Sava's SART (Sexual Assault Resource Team) and CASA.
