Clinical Social Worker in Austin, TX

About My Clients

Many of my clients are thoughtful, insightful people who have spent a lot of time trying to understand themselves. I work with adolescents (13+) and adults and especially enjoy working with people who are curious about themselves and interested in understanding not only how to feel better, but why they feel the way they do.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas with specialized training in OCD and anxiety treatment, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and contemporary behavioral approaches. I also have training and ongoing consultation in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from multiple perspectives depending on what is most helpful for you. For some clients, this may involve structured, evidence-based interventions. For others, it may involve exploring deeper relational patterns, emotional conflicts, attachment experiences, and unconscious processes that contribute to current struggles. I have a particular interest in working with OCD, anxiety, chronic illness, health-related concerns, identity development, and recurring relationship patterns. My goal is not only to help you feel better, but to help you understand yourself more fully and create lasting change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that symptoms make sense. Whether it's anxiety, compulsions, avoidance, self-criticism, people-pleasing, or relationship struggles, these patterns usually develop for a reason. Rather than viewing symptoms as something to simply get rid of, I believe meaningful change begins with understanding them with curiosity and compassion. I also believe that insight and action both matter. Understanding yourself can be incredibly powerful, but lasting change often requires trying something new—whether that's facing a fear, setting a boundary, tolerating uncertainty, or relating to yourself differently than you have in the past. Most importantly, I believe therapy works through the relationship itself. Feeling understood, accepted, and able to think openly about your experiences creates the conditions for growth and change.
