About My Clients
My belief is that while humans are innately relational beings, relationships are really hard! I help women and couples create (and stick to!) their boundaries with friends, family, co-workers, and partner(s), grow communication skills, develop emotional understanding & expression, heal from current or past relational trauma, and navigate relational transitions such as separation, welcoming a child, and getting through Thanksgiving dinner!
My Background and Approach
I value you as an individual and acknowledge that you are the expert on your life, relationships, and goals. It is my honor as a therapist is to provide a safe space for you to be yourself as we work together towards your goals; helping you create a meaningful, healthy, and fulfilling life.In my opinion, the relationship between client and therapist is the most important aspect of therapy. Once a foundation of trust and respect has been established, I take a humanistic approach to therapy. This means that you are the expert on your life and my role is to walk alongside you rather than lead you. I also use foundational techniques from Narrative, Gottman, IFS, and Person-Centered therapies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I put great importance on providing services that are social justice-minded, trauma-informed, and LGBTQ+ affirming. My belief is that the creation and maintenance of personal boundaries are vital to many of the things we face as well as analyzing the stories that we, family/friends, and society have told us. My hope is to help you reconnect to yourself and deepen your sense of self.
