About My Clients

You may look capable on the outside while carrying anxiety, trauma, pressure, perfectionism, or the feeling that you always have to hold it together. I work with adults navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety and burnout, people-pleasing, identity and life transitions, and perinatal mental health. I also have a special focus on military members, veterans, first responders and their partners, as well as athletes. You don't have to minimize what you're carrying to belong in therapy.

My Background and Approach

I bring both professional training and lived understanding to this work. As a first-generation Latina, wife of a veteran and first responder, and mother, I understand how culture, family, service, responsibility, and the pressure to keep going can shape the way we experience mental health and asking for help. My master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling includes a specialization in Military Families & Culture. I also have additional training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR, and perinatal mental health, with clinical experience working with trauma and PTSD. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, warm, and direct. I don’t believe therapy should feel one-size-fits-all. I draw from evidence-based and body-based approaches based on what fits you, while creating space to understand not only what you’re experiencing, but the context you’re carrying it in.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe you shouldn’t have to leave important parts of yourself outside the room to be understood. Growing up in a first-generation family, I saw how much stigma could surround mental health and asking for help. It’s part of why I chose this work and created The Safe State. I believe the context of your life matters. Culture, family, relationships, work, identity, and the roles you carry can all shape what you’re going through. Therapy should be a place where those parts of your story are met with empathy rather than judgment. My goal isn’t to tell you who to be, but to help you better understand yourself, feel more grounded, and reconnect with what truly feels like you.
