My Background and Approach
With several years of experience in the field of mental health, I have worked in diverse environments such as in-home care, outpatient clinics, and supportive housing settings. I frequently utilize person-centered therapy, CBT techniques, and teach the benefits of radical acceptance and living in the 'here and now.' My approach includes active and empathic listening skills, offering warm acceptance to provide direct emotional support to my clients. I collaborate with my clients to help them learn healthy coping mechanisms and navigate life successfully. Recognizing the uniqueness and value of each individual's life experiences, I believe in starting the therapeutic process by meeting the person where they are. Clients might be encouraged to engage in coping strategies like journaling, incorporating exercise as a stress-relief outlet, and exploring creative activities to express challenging emotions.
