About My Clients
Childhood trauma, abusive relationships, car accidents. All of these are traumas that can have a lasting effect on clients. Often those effects are both psychological and physiological. My practice focuses on helping to untangle those psychological and physiological effects of trauma. My training and specialization is in different treatment modalities for trauma and somatic attachment theory. By working on both the body and the mind together, it is possible to heal past traumas.
My Background and Approach
Certified Somatic Experience Practitioner (SEP) with the Somatic Experience Trauma Institute founded by Dr. Peter Levine, Ph.D. SE training is a well recognized and proven method for providing treatment to individuals suffering from trauma or chronic stress. Approved Training Assistant at the SE intermediate level. Approved Credited Personal Session Provider for SE beginning level. Completed four-level Certification in Dynamic Attachment Re-patterning experience (DARe). Certification provided by Trauma Solutions and Dr. Diane Poole Heller, Ph.D. This multi-year program provides specialized training in providing a Somatic Adult Attachment approach to therapy for developmental traumas. Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Helping clients live a more full life by understanding themselves is at the core of my practice. Trauma is a major cause of mental health issues for many people. Sometimes it can be a shock trauma like a car accident. Sometimes it can be a developmental trauma from difficult relationships during childhood. I have spent my professional career helping people with trauma understand how trauma affects their lives and develop tools and skills to manage that trauma. My passion is bringing healing to people who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience.
