About My Clients
My approach to therapy is non-judgmental, collaborative, interactive, and compassionate. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel truly heard and understood. I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, substance use, race-based stress, and issues related to intimacy and sexual connection.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience working with adults and couples in various settings, including hospital medical centers, private practice, college counseling, community mental health, and the prison system. I focus on helping individuals and couples navigate unhealthy beliefs and patterns, creating a more balanced and fulfilling life. I completed my Ph.D. at the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology (VCPCP). During my time at VCPCP, I taught psychology of sex to undergraduates, served as a project specialist on an HIV grant, and presented research at national conferences on race-related issues. I am also an alumna of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), where I earned a Master of Science degree in Community Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
