Path to Peace Counseling Services works with a diverse range of individuals, couples, families, and teens across Wythe, Pulaski, and Tazewell Counties. My Background and Approach
My path to counseling was shaped by years of working alongside people in some of their most vulnerable moments — from special education and case management at a children's home to substance abuse counseling in underserved rural communities. Those experiences convinced me that healing is possible for anyone, and that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation everything else is built on. I hold a Master of Science in Counselor Education from Radford University and am credentialed as an LPC-Resident, CSAC-R, and QMHP-C. I work with individuals, couples, families, and teens using a blend of evidence-based approaches including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, and ACT. For clients who desire it, I am also glad to integrate faith into our work together. I co-founded Path to Peace Counseling Services because I believe quality mental health care should be accessible to everyone — not just those who can afford it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person in any seasons of life, at any age, and in any circumstance carries within them the capacity for change. Struggle is not a life sentence. I believe human beings are made with inherent worth and dignity, and that no one is too broken, too far gone, or too complicated to experience healing and wholeness. It is why I co-founded a nonprofit clinic committed to serving anyone who walks through the door, regardless of what they can pay. I believe that relationships are at the heart of both our deepest wounds and our greatest healing. And I believe that hope is not naive, it is one of the most courageous things a person can choose.
