About My Clients
I serve diverse adults (age 20+), specifically those who have alternative identities (artists, creatives, counter-culture, & minorities of all types) as well as other therapists & mental health professionals. My clients typically feel stuck in one or more areas of life and are sometimes struggling with mood/anxiety disorders, maladaptive coping behaviors, unresolved traumas, & addictions.
My Background and Approach
I’ve spent the last 20 yrs residing in Austin, TX and have been a practicing therapist for 13 of those years. I am licensed to serve clients in both Texas and Oregon. I received my MS in Clinical Social Work (2011) and BA in Psychology (2008) from The University of Texas at Austin. I provide a non-judgmental and understanding space for people who may have struggled engaging in therapy in the past due to feeling judged for being “weird” or “different”. I meet each client where they're at, bringing a lens of compassion, non-judgment, mutuality, and deep respect for individual experience into each session. I prioritize forming strong connections with each client I work with and begin offering evidence based therapies (EBTs), psychoeducation, and tangible skill-building techniques from the very first session. I have extensive experience working with adults facing mental health and/or substance use issues at all levels of care (inpatient psych & detox, RTC, PHP, IOP, and private practice).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about racial justice, decolonizing mental health, and embracing diversity. I believe my clients already have the answers, wisdom, & capacity for change w/in themselves- my role is to help them access those resources to facilitate positive change. Some fun info: I am a proud cat lady. I am fairly obsessed with the color purple. My biggest hobby/passion is travel. I am mixed Indigenous.
