About My Clients
You may feel on edge, overwhelmed, disconnected, unable to sleep, or troubled by experiences that still affect you. I work with adults and children affected by trauma, including war and violence, and with children whose early experiences have made it difficult to feel safe, trust, or manage big emotions. I also support foster and adoptive parents in understanding their child’s needs, managing their own stress, and finding practical ways to help their family thrive.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to help you understand what is happening, find ways to feel better, and recognize the strengths you already have. I have specialized training and experience helping people cope with trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, major life changes, and the challenges that can arise in marriages and families. I particularly enjoy working with people from different cultures and backgrounds, including international populations, and I bring curiosity and respect to understanding your unique experience. I earned my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology–Chicago. My approach combines several different ways of understanding people and relationships, including family systems, psychodynamic, and empowerment-based approaches. We'll look at what is happening now, where it comes from, how it affects your life, and what can help you move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe that every person has inherent worth and value and deserves access to excellent mental healthcare. This belief is foundational to how I practice, encouraging me to think creatively and work with a person's whole system to pursue healing and growth. Your story is worth telling. Your voice is deeply important. You deserve excellent care.
