About My Clients
I have had the good fortune to work with many populations: older adults, people with criminal justice involvement, first-generation Americans, tech workers; the breadth of those experiences is a foundation of my work. In my private practice, I am particularly committed to working with LGBTQ clients.
My Background and Approach
In my graduate training at the University of Chicago, I studied the usual things therapists study. There's more detail on those things under "Specialties," if it's of interest. In broadest terms, my job is to ask the right questions. My stance is nonjudgmental; I strive always to be curious, empathetic, and when appropriate, humanely skeptical.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Like many therapists, I believe that you have the aptitude to be more at ease, and my role is one of support and direction. We will not talk much, if at all, about mental health diagnoses, which I believe are fine as a rough way of getting a handle on a problem, but rarely get under the rock of your reasons.
