My Background and Approach
I approach therapy through the lens of evolutionary psychology, embracing neurodiversity while looking toward the ultimate, distal causes of mental health and behavioral symptoms. On a practical level, I draw from my training in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. I am committed to evidence-based treatments and prefer short-term, solution-focused approaches. However, I also recognize and value the teachings from thousands of years of contemplative practices.
