About My Clients
I specialize in treating problematic sexual behaviors and sexual disorders, post-traumatic symptoms, victim/survivors of relationship, domestic, and interpersonal abuse, victim/survivors of stalking, victim/survivors of human trafficking, psychotic symptoms, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. I love working with kids, teens, and adults!
My Background and Approach
I like to use an individualized approach to therapy, working with my clients to figure out what kind of treatment works best for them. I use a variety of treatment techniques, such as cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, expressive arts, mindfulness, and strengths-based therapy, to help clients gain skills that they can use throughout their life. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is a type of therapy proven to reduce trauma symptoms in kids aged 3 - 17. I've have several years of experience using this treatment approach with children and teens who've experienced trauma. I use Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT) when working with kids experiencing sexual behavior problems. This type of therapy has shown to reduce or eliminate problematic sexual behaviors and improve parenting skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I provide a safe, non-judgemental, comfortable space for healing. I believe that there is always room to grow and learn. Whether my client is 5 years old or 50 years old, I make it a goal to teach my clients something during every session. I meet clients where they're at, and use harm-reduction strategies to help folks reach their mental health goals. I believe that everyone should have access to quality mental health care. I'm an advocate for social change within, and outside of, mental and behavioral health. When I'm not at work, I like to spend time outside, playing with makeup, binge-watching bad reality TV, experimenting with art, cuddling with my cats, and relaxing with my dogs.
