About My Clients
Do you feel like you don't have the tools to help you process your emotions? Have you been taught that feelings are bad and should be avoided? I help people process and connect with themselves in order to grow. I work with people of any gender identity. I am passionate about working with people who identify as males. Our society tells people messages like "sucking it up" or "don't cry". These messages impact male-identified people a lot. I work to unpack these harmful messages with my clients!
My Background and Approach
My goal for you is to be able to be yourself and freely process emotions while examining the impact emotions have in day-to-day life. I believe cognition, behaviors, and emotions are all linked. I take pride in creating safe spaces for people to confront the faulty messages they have been told that do harm to their mental well-being. I take a client-centered approach to counseling which means I believe that you are the expert on your own experience. I look to encourage the strengths you already possess. In addition to this approach, I apply various therapeutic techniques that help clients grow and heal. These include, but are not limited to, narrative therapy, attachment theory, and REBT. I am in the process of meeting new clients and would love to get the chance to connect with you. I offer a flexible sliding scale and can accommodate people from any socio-economic background.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that counseling is a process of healing, self-exploration, and growth. In my view, these processes occur through a strong therapeutic relationship between a client and counselor, which I hope to help build. I am currently taking new clients for in-person and virtual counseling. Please feel free to reach out and set up a time to meet!
