My Background and Approach
I have held leadership roles in the Department of Psychiatry at UCLA, where I supervised and taught advanced clinicians at the UCLA Child and Adolescent Mood Disorders Program. Additionally, I provided treatment at the UCLA Child Anxiety, OCD, and Tic Disorders Program. I was also Co-Director of the Vine Street Behavioral Medicine Clinic at the UCLA Center for Behavioral and Addiction Medicine, and Director at UC San Diego, Intensive Outpatient Program. I use therapy approaches that have been proven effective in national research studies. These include CBT, DBT, CBIT, and ERP.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy can transform lives by combining compassion with science. I teach practical skills for changing behaviors, while giving support and encouragement along the way. By helping people build confidence in their strengths, I provide people with the tools to improve overall functioning, create better relationships, and overcome future challenges.
