About My Clients
Many of my clients are sensitive helpers and recovering perfectionists who come into therapy with anxiety, depression, codependency, heavy self-criticism, and unresolved childhood trauma and grief. They are incredibly resilient, possess their own unique strengths, and have the sincere wish to heal.
My Background and Approach
There is no “cut and paste” formula for success in therapy. However, research has shown that the quality of relationship between therapist and client has the biggest impact on outcomes. This is a guiding principle for me. I see relationships as the ground from which deep, lasting work can be done and your own inner wisdom can be accessed. My intention is to provide an atmosphere in which you are seen, understood, and companioned as you seek resolution to places of pain or stuckness. All parts of you are welcome. I take an integrative and holistic approach, which means honoring the mind, heart, and body in therapy and treating them as interconnected. I have also been trained in a somatic and experiential approach to relationship therapy by The Couples Center. I look at therapy as a highly collaborative process, something that’s done with you and not to you. I will regularly solicit your feedback and offer ways that you can continue to engage with the work outside of session.
