About My Clients
I see a variety of clients, mostly individuals and couples. I work with anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, aging, trauma, problem solving and also with newly diagnosed or chronic mental and medical illness.
My Background and Approach
My training began with eleven years as a registered nurse at UCLA's psychiatric hospital which is a teaching hospital. I asked many questions and was always curious, and I believe I received an excellent education over eleven years. But I was always drawn to the less acute and one on one environment of therapy - so I left the stress of hospital life and changed careers. I use a mixture of approaches drawing from CBT, self-compassion, psychodynamic, client focused and gestalt.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in respecting clients and their needs. I do not impose upon their beliefs but, listen to hear what clients are needing and why they are wanting to be in therapy - I have such wide ranging experience and find it important to meet clients where they are...
