About My Clients
I work with clients who want to know and understand themselves deeply. I have long specialized in working with people who have been through traumatic experiences or early lives and want to understand how these experiences have affected them and free themselves to have a different future. I also work with clients who are specifically interested in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model to understaning themselves and the world.
My Background and Approach
Please visit my website for more specifics about my approach at www.arborcounselingllc.com. I use integrative therapies and am trained in integrative therapies including IFS, EMDR and relational psychodynamic therapy, all of which I use heavily in my practice. But most importantly I work with you as whole person—your identities, family and relationships, work, health, hobbies; your intellectual, creative and spiritual pursuits; your life goals and values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am sensitive to the parts of our selves that make us unique, which includes different expressions of gender, sexuality, culture, socio-economic status, ethnicity, race, political ideology, religion, LGTBQIA2S+ identity, and intersectionality. I use mindfulness, my own therapy and consultation to help me address bias that might come up in my work. I partner with clients with an orientation towards social justice, honoring difference and our own deep knowledge of ourselves and our needs. I am personally interested in meditation and have completed several silent 10-day courses of Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka. I enjoy supporting people in exploring the tremendous benefits of mindfulness practices and how you can bring insight and more peace to your inner life. I am an HSP (highly sensitive person, as identified by Elaine Aron’s research) and really love working with others with the trait of high sensitivity.
