My Background and Approach
Hi, I’m Elaine Mains, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a compassionate, authentic, and down-to-earth approach to therapy. I see therapy as the process of removing the weeds and rocks from the soil of your life. As we build a therapy relationship together, I want to be authentic in this process with you, since I’m asking you to do the same. Although we discuss some harder topics, I hope that you will also experience safety, normalcy, and a few laughs. I received my MA in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2005. My years of experience includes years at Rady Children’s hospital and years working abroad. I have a heart for and seek to understand cultural issues, and love to support those in ministry and their families, and other helper professions. I am a trained CBT, EMDR and Restoration Therapist. With these theories, I seek to help you find a more integrated sense of self so you can experience freedom from patterns you may be used to for years.
