About My Clients
Are you working on understanding how your past experiences affect your present? Do you want to dismantle the lies that trauma has told you? I know how sometimes our thinking brain KNOWS the lies aren't true, but our emotional selves FEEL like they are. I look forward to working with you to understand how we can challenge these lies and get you back to recognizing how fabulous you actually are.
My Background and Approach
I worked in the sexual assault and intimate partner violence field for almost 20 years, starting when I was just a teenager in college! I saw so much abuse happening around me and knew I had to do something. From there, supporting those affected by trauma became my passion. I am now trained in EMDR which has enhanced my experience working with survivors. I am trained in ecotherapy - our connection to the natural world has been disrupted by the way we are forced to live in our society and I love to weave ways to reconnect to the Earth into the work I do with clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Social Worker because I believe social change is an important element of better mental health outcomes. We can't separate the societal structures that marginalize entire populations from the mental health of those populations. I support reproductive rights, BLM, am actively a part of the LGBTQ+, polyamory and kink communities and am disability informed and neurodivergent affirming.
