About My Clients
Struggling with addictive behaviors? Tormented by constant worry and intrusive thoughts? Finding it difficult to control your impulses or intense emotions? Having trouble adjusting to a new job, school, relationship or any big change? Maybe trying to rediscover yourself after a divorce? or simply trying to make sense of existence while navigating life's challenges? How about all of the above? Humans heal through connection and few can be as growth promoting and healing as the therapeutic one.
My Background and Approach
I received a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Currently, I am practicing as a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern (RMHCI) and pursuing licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. In addition, I was originally trained abroad as a Psychologist and my main specialties include Human Development, Neuropsychology, Cognition and Acculturation. I have experience as a researcher and clinician working with children, adolescents and adults from all demographics and cultural backgrounds. There are no quick fixes in psychotherapy. You are not a problem to be solved or symptom to be managed even if you carry a clinical diagnosis. Evidence suggests no model/style of therapy is more effective than the therapeutic alliance itself. My approach is systemic/relational and most importantly dialectic just like human reality and the process of change. You can expect education, support, and collaboration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value preventive health care and community empowerment. Integrating Psychology and mental health education into the elementary and middle levels of the educational system. We have evidence that early intervention coupled with evidence based education can help reduce health care costs and contribute to an overall healthier population. Let's do this together ☺️
