About My Clients
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions, and with couples caught in recurring conflict.
My Background and Approach
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with an integrative and collaborative approach. I draw on attachment theory, emotion-focused work, mindfulness-based CBT, and psychodynamic depth, with EMDR, polyvagal theory, and parts work for trauma. We work with what you can say and with what the body is still holding, because stress and trauma live in both places. My sessions are engaging, direct, collaborative, and at a pace we set together, adapting the work to what you actually need, rather than fitting you into one model. You may have been carrying something for a long time, or you may be in the middle of a loss or a change that rearranged things. My work goes beyond surface coping skills to understand the recurring patterns, so the change holds.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don't think people need fixing. Most things make sense once you understand where they came from, whether it's anxiety, depression, or distance that's grown in a relationship - these are usually reasonable responses to coping with something you can't name. We look at why these have become useful but painful, understand the patterns, and work towards positive shifts to meaningful change. I'm interested in the origin of your coping mechanisms, so we can move beyond simply managing symptoms. Coping strategies help, but they tend to stop working when what's underneath stays untouched. My approach is integrative and somatic, which means the method follows the person rather than a protocol, and we work with what the body is holding as well as what you can put into words. I'm engaged and direct. You won't have to guess what I'm thinking. You don't need to arrive with the right words or know exactly what you're looking for. Figuring that out is the work we do together.
