About My Clients
DeAvila Ford, LCSW research and clinical interests involve connecting mental health and the millennial generation. It is her hope that individuals who struggle with abandonment, rejection, depression, anxiety, abuse, etc. will work to become more transparent, vulnerable, and heal from their past.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained to work with issues of depression/anxiety/trauma/grief/abuse/relationships, I have been assisting individuals and families with working through matters of the heart and mind since 2014. I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the University of Memphis where I attained my Masters of Social Work. My goal is to aid in the facilitating of change through promoting healthy processing of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connected to past traumas, relationships, and self-inflicted wounds. I enjoy utilizing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing as therapeutic approaches and interventions. I am the author of The Therapeutic Journal. The journal consists of 30 prompts to aid in healing and self-discovery.
